Practice Techniques Course

Learn the practice strategies that will save you time, get you better results, and make you more bulletproof under pressure.

Learn how to practice techniques:

the real problem

“I never really learned how to practice properly…”
“I don’t know what to do in the practice room and feel like I’m not getting anywhere...”

If you’re anything like me, you did not get taught how to practice once you left your lesson and shut your practice room door.

What exactly happens inside the practice room?
What should you be doing to get better faster?
What are the best ways to learn new notes, new techniques, and musical concepts?

Learning and honing a skill requires many, many hours of dedicated work. But what kind of work needs to be done exactly?
No one wants to spend hours learning music poorly or incorrectly and then spending many more hours unlearning the mistakes and bad habits you’ve picked up along the way.

Violin Practice Techniques

In my Practice Techniques course, I help you avoid these pitfalls, starting from the practice basics (topics that are not typically discussed inside your classes or private lessons!). I cover the foundational principles, mindsets, and practice strategies necessary to achieve productive, joyful, and efficient practicing.

No more wasting precious hours of time in the practice room.

This course is dedicated to helping you achieve a practice strategy that gets you better results faster, giving you smarter practice solutions, more consistent performances, and results that stick under pressure.

Make your practice sessions more effective to prepare you for a better performance.

Lynn Kuo

I'm DR. LYNN KUO.

FOUNDER OF VIOLIN WITH DR. LYNN

I have spent 21+ years as Assistant Concertmaster of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra and have accumulated years' worth of performance experience on three continents from inside the pit and onstage as an orchestral, chamber musician, and soloist.

As a performer, I've given the world premiere of numerous works around the world; as an educator, I've taught as Visiting Assistant Professor of Violin at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and have been asked to teach, coach, and adjudicate worldwide.

I know what it’s like to be passionate about the violin and feel frustrated because you aren’t where you want to be technically or musically, you don’t feel like you’re getting the encouragement or support you need, or you feel like an imposter hiding behind the instrument.

It is my mission to provide caring guidance in your journey as a violinist, to inspire you to achieve your goals on the violin and to do so within an environment that fosters kindness, encouragement, and positivity.

It gives me great joy to help you break down the process of mastering the violin and musicianship into clear and understandable concepts so that you feel more empowered and confident on the violin.
